4th National Summit on Mergers and Acquisitions

$

0

Merger and Acquisition (M&A) has become a part and parcel of the global corporate domain. It is crucial, essential, and relevant for developing Indian Economy. It sets the stage for growing, expanding, enhancing, synergizing, and consolidating the entire fabric of corporate evolution. With wholesale innovation becoming scarcer, both horizontal and vertical integration models have become the mainstay for corporate sophistication. Simply, the importance of M&A cannot be ignored in today’s fast evolving corporate world when restructuring and expansion of business organization is needed to grow businesses.

As India Inc becomes increasingly coveted as an M&A destination, it also becomes more susceptible to the vagaries and uncertainty of the global economic climate. Today, Indian business continues to grow, but given the global economic paradigm shift, the increased focus on corporate accountability and return to investment, India has become the market with lots of potential to the large number of prospective global players looking forward for M&A deals with Indian companies. Now India destiny focus on improving processes, removing obstacles, increasing the ease of doing business internationally, and pace-up the commercial, fairly competitive and legal best practices.

In view of these emerging issues and key developments, ASSOCHAM is organizing 4th National Summit on “Mergers and Acquisitions” - The Changing Landscape of Corporates - on 18th December 2015 at New Delhi.

We are happy to inform you that Shri Ashok Chawla, Chairperson, Competition Commission of India has confirmed to grace the occasion.

We are also looking for Sponsorship Support and Speaker from your esteemed organization in this very important summit, to enhance your brand visibility. Your association could derive huge mileage from this galaxy event, as there will be participants from top Corporates and government officials.

National Conference on Effects and Implications of Recent Amended ADR/Commercial Courts Laws

$

On 23rd December, 2015 Rajya Sabha and on 16/17th December, 2015 Lok Sabha  passed two important Bills on (i) the Arbitration and Conciliation (Amendment) Bill, 2015, and (2) The Commercial Courts, Commercial Division & Commercial Appellate Division of  High Courts Bill, 2015, which were earlier promulgated as Ordinance  by the Hon’ble President of  India. Both these Bills are set to revolutionize the resolution of commercial disputes in India. It is hoped that this will bring radical change in the image of India which has beeninfamous for having a heavily overburdened legal system that leads toindefinite delays in the disposal of court cases.  Inefficiencies in its legal infrastructure have made it all the more difficult for foreign as well as domestic large investors to protect their investments in India.

Truly, the amended Arbitration and Conciliation Bill & the establishment of the Commercial Courts together would  bring a revolution in the speedier resolution of the commercial disputes in India. Both bills reflect commitment of the Government to improve investment climate and spur economic growth. Now India can seek a place as the new arbitration hub of the world after London and Singapore. Hence it is essential to know their key provisions and its effectiveness.

To discuss effects and implications of  amended Arbitration & Conciliation Bill and establishment of  Commercial Courts, ASSOCHAM International Council of Alternate Dispute Resolution (AICADR) is organizing one day ‘ National  Conference on  ‘Effects & Implications of  Recent Amended ADR/Commercial Courts Laws’ on Tuesday, the 5th April, 2016 at Hotel Shangri-La, New Delhi.

Hon’ble Union Minister of Law & Justice, Shri D.V. Sadananda  Gowda, has very kindly consented to be the Chief Guest  and Shri P.K. Malhotra, Law Secretary, has also agreed to be the Guest of Honour to address in this conference during the Inaugural session. Hon’ble Judges of Supreme Count/High along with eminent Jurists and Senior Arbitration  Practitioners will also address in the Technical Session in this Conference.

KEY ISSUES TO BE DISCUSSED

- Has the enactment of the Arbitration & Conciliation (Amendment) Bill, 2015 improved the arbitration scenario in India?

- How prepared are we to deal with the evolving arbitration laws

- Investment treaties & international treaty arbitration.

- Should India have a separate Arbitration Act for Domestic Arbitration and International Arbitrations, respectively?

- What will be the impact of the enforcement of Commercial Courts Bill, 2015 vis-à-vis arbitration

- Pitfalls in the Arbitration & Conciliation (Amendment) Bill, 2015

- Requirement to make India a HUB for ADR

The delegate registration form, Conference Brochure and tentative agenda of the Conference has been mentioned in the link below
